Screenplay

GEORGIANA is looking out of the train window. Her mother, HIROMI, looks at GEORGIANA's things on the table in front of her: a doll, a wooden box, four wooden colored pencils tied by a white ribbon.

There's a noise as the connecting door to the train compartment opens.

HIROMI looks up and smiles politely (but non-committally).

A (Kazakh?) family walks through the train car (on the way to dining car?). A YOUNG BOY is looking hard at GEORGIANA, then seems to reach a realization.

KAZAK BOY
Mama! Mama! to, chto yee ? (Mama, is that her?)
MOTHER
Shhhhhh!
KAZAK BOY
Georgiana Learner,
Kosmicheskaya devochka?

(that's Georgiana Learner! The space girl!) [то, что ее Космоческий Девушка]

MOTHER
Shhhhhh!!!

GEORGIANA looks away from the window when she hears her name, and starts to smile, but the family have already moved on to the end of the car.

HIROMI:
(In English)
Are you hungry?

HIROMI offers GEORGIANA some apples.

GEORGIANA shakes her head and returns to looking out the window. We follow her gaze outside, and then fall back away and up from the train as it crosses the desert. Fade to black.

Direction

We don't really say this, but the year is meant to be about 2040.

The disk of the Earth dissolves smoothly into a stationary train wheel which begins to roll (we are following it in the frame of reference of the train car).

The circle of the Earth dissolves into the circle of a train wheel. The wheel begins to turn. We follow it, locked to the motion of the wheel, and then slowly drift along the train (to the left) and up to a window. Through the window we see the face of GEORGIANA watching the scenary go by as they leave a station in rural Kazakhstan. In the reflection, we see buildings and houses go by, followed by desert. We see a camel being led by a Kazakh as a pack animal, among other things. The scenary is moving gradually faster, however, and there are fewer foreground elements.

The camera then cuts to an interior view down the length of the train car, with GEORGIANA sitting in the observer chair at the table by the window. A reverse shot reveals HIROMI sitting diagonally across from her on the main seat. The seat across from her has been folded up to allow for a large trunk bearing the ISF logo.

From inside...

Sound

MUSIC: "Nylon" by "J.M.F." from "Direction Orient"

We also hear the successive crash sound of a train starting up. Additional train sounds, both interior and exterior, with and without doppler effect.

Plausible/indistinct conversations in Russian and/or Kazakh aboard the train.

Some of my existing sound tracks have voices in the background, but they're actually in some Indian language. Not a problem if they're really as indistinct as I think they are, and if we layer more sound on top of those.
